OK, let’s get a bit technical for a moment! Our tubes are made from biodegradable Polyethylene. When these materials are placed in a microbial environment (ie landfill), the packaging attracts specific microbes which digest the entire polymer, the result being our tubes take around 6 - 10 years to breakdown in landfill.  The key is the enzymatic breakdown of the polymer through this microbial activity, which means the packaging is designed to breakdown in standard landfill (therefore not compostable) leaving no microplastics, you read that right, no microplastics.

Our tube manufacturer relies on the internationally recognised ASTM D5526 biodegradable standard and is tested in independent labs in the USA.

All cardboard packaging is recyclable and of course for the kids they’re perfect for finger puppets!

Our toothbrushes are made of bamboo, with soft nylon bristles. Worms LOVE the handles, so if you have a worm farm or compost bin, snap the head off the brush, put the handle in your worm farm/compost bin and the head in your normal bin. If you don’t have a worm farm or compost bin, that’s ok! Snap off the head and throw the head and handle in the normal bin, that way when the worms eventually get to it, they have a juicy handle all ready to eat!

Our toothpaste tube is biodegradable, and will breakdown in around 6-10 years in landfill – say goodbye to microplastics! Put the tube in your normal bin and the cap in the recycle bin.

Our floss, you guessed it, is biodegradable too! Put it in your normal bin, not the toilet, we repeat, not the toilet. We love that you like sharing, but turtles don’t need floss, so best not to share it with them. The floss container is recyclable, or you can keep it for your bits and bob, like that random screw that is always left behind after putting together flat pack furniture.

We work hard to ensure a sustainability chain across our product range, including through to arriving at their new home, your house! Yup, all the packaging components that arrive at your door are also compostable or biodegradable – the worms are going to love you, you’ll be the talk of the town!

It’s recommended to change your toothbrush every 3 months, so we have made life easier for you and crossed dental care of your shopping list! You can subscribe to receive our SmidgeCo products every 3 months by hitting the subscribe button, then 3 months later more SmidgeCo products will arrive, and well you get the picture. We’ll email you 5 days before your next delivery is due to ship, to give you time to prepare your bathroom for its fresh set of SmidgeCo goodies – seriously, look at the bottom of your toothbrush holder!

We like to be as flexible as our floss, so if you decide your dentist is super happy and you no longer want a regular dose of SmidgeCo, you can cancel anytime through your account on our website at least 5 days before your next scheduled shipment. If we receive your cancellation less than 5 days before your upcoming shipment, your subscription will be cancelled for the following delivery.

We accept most mainstream payments, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa and Mastercard.

We use a courier service, ensuring your lovely packages are well taken care of from our door to yours, whilst still doing our bit for the planet, as deliveries are carbon neutral.

We love to share our oral hygiene goodness, so we deliver Australia wide, including some regional areas. As we use a courier service, we do not deliver to PO Boxes or Parcel lockers.

And since we are big on sharing, we can deliver internationally, note delivery fees may vary and any import duties/taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser.

We are so excited that you’re counting down until your delivery arrives…which for domestic deliveries is estimated between 2-8 days depending on your location.

International deliveries, you’ll have to count for a little bit longer, as yours can take between 5-30 days depending on your location.

Because we love our products, we want to ensure they have a comfy trip to your door, so we use a courier as our delivery partner (and they’re carbon neutral!). For domestic deliveries, shipping is a flat $8. For orders over $100, well clearly you love our product, so we love you back with free shipping!

For our international friends, delivery fees are calculated at checkout and any import duties/taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser.

We love our products and want you to too, so if your product has an unfortunate accident on route to your home, notify us within 10 business days at justasmidge@smidgeco.com.au, either send the product back to us or a picture of the damage, and if applicable we will organise a replacement.
